Last week we celebrated the only summer birthday in the house.
When we were chatting about what he would like for his birthday Alasdair said one of the things he wanted was to have Marvel bunting hanging across the living room.
I found this free printable here which was perfect. The flags have space in the middle to add your own message.
The superhero theme continued with the wrapping paper...
...and with the presents!
James (15) and Calum (12) took charge of making the birthday cake.
Calum baked a gluten free and dairy free sponge cake, while James got on with the decorations.
James decided to add Alasdair's most favourite Marvel characters to the cake. He spent a quite a while working on it and the end result was great.
Alasdair loved it.
For his birthday treat he asked if he could go to the cinema with his cousin.

After I took the photo above I asked all the other boys and their cousins for a group photo.
But, well, things got a little bit silly by then!
